Reading

    The fourth graders this year have been participating in a Reading program called Guided Reading.  This program allows children to work in groups comprised of children who are reading at the same level.  We select your child's level by their reading level, not their grade level.

        The fourth graders have also taken the Reading State Assessment this year for the first time.  In past years only the fifth grade has  taken this State Assessment.  This year all grades 3rd - 8th are required to take the assessment.  The fourth grade test was comprised of 7 passages given over 3 days.  These passages were narrative, expository, or technical.   As a class goal, the 4th grades were shooting for an 80% class average.  We went above and beyond with an 88% class average!  Way To Go!!!
