Section 1

This organization shall be noncommercial, nonsectarian and nonpartisan.

This organization shall neither seek to direct the administrative activities of the school nor to control its policies.

This organization shall make suggestions to the administration concerning activities of the school, if such suggestion is made toward the betterment of conditions for all concerned )i.e.. students, parents, teachers, and administrators).

 

Section 2

No part of the net earnings of the organization shall benefit or be distributed to its members, officers, or other private persons except to the elected treasurer who is authorized to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments.

The fiscal year of this organization shall coincide with the school year.

bullet

501(c)(3) Tax Exempt statement or other generic statement.

Officers and Elections

Section 1

The officers of this organization shall consist of a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a reporter, a treasurer,  Faculty Representative, and STudent Representative.

Section 2

Officers of this organization shall be elected in the following manner:

There shall be a nominating committee consisting of 5 persons.  One member of the executive committee, one faculty representative, and 3 booster club members.  Persons on the nominating committee cannot run for elected office that year.

The nominating committee will use the following procedures to determine the proposed slate:

A list will be compiled of nominations for each office from the Spring Valley Heights Colts Booster Club meeting.

bullet

In the event of no nomination from the general membership, it will be the responsibility of the committee to actively recruit one nominee for each office.

bullet

Nominees will be contacted to verify the willingness of the nominee to run for the specified office.

bullet

The nominees for each position will be published in the newsletter before the election.

bullet

There shall be no election for the office of President as the Vice-President shall automatically assume the position of President at the completion of his or her term.

bullet

Ballots will be sent home the Friday following the general meeting. The Membership has two weeks to return their ballots.  Only one vote is allowed for each member.  Signatures must accompany each ballot.  The votes will be tabulated in the presence of the Valley Heights Elementary principal.  The results of the voting will be announced at End of Year meeting and the newsletter following the meeting.  New Officers will assume their responsibilities at the General Meeting in the Fall.

 

Section 3

The term of each office shall be one year.

bullet

With the exception of President and Vice-President, a person shall not be eligible to serve more than two consecutive terms in the same office.

Should a vacancy occur in the office of the President, the Vice-President shall immediately assume the office.  Should a vacancy occur in any other office, the vacancy shall be filled by ballot at the next general Valley Heights Colts Booster Club meeting.  Nominations will come from the floor.
