BLOCKING OUT HUNGER

High school students enjoy an incentive day before Thanksgiving Break. On November 26, the entire high school participated in its annual “Block Out Hunger” day. First thing in the morning, students stacked canned goods outside the doors of classrooms. The plethora of nonperishable food items collected was then taken to the local food pantry. Afterwards, everyone was released for a day of fun, which consisted of activities, including pie baking, Christmas cookie decorating, casino games, a dodgeball tournament, and an open gym. After lunch, the entire school wrapped up the incentive day with popcorn and a movie in the commons. Junior, Bryson Kenworthy, said, “I was surprised by the amount of cans there were after everybody was done stacking. The day was a good way to start off Thanksgiving Break.”
