As the beginning of the season comes closer the Valley Heights men's basketball team has been in the gym working towards the main goal, which is a winning a State Championship while developing characteristics that will benefit them in the future. Before the season started, the team had a meeting and reviewed the team goals. Head Coach Adam Schreiner stated, “when NASA launches a rocket to the moon, if the launch is an inch off when it is first launched it will completely miss the moon.” The purpose behind this information was getting the team motivated and focused on their main goal as soon as practice started, and not start our season “an inch off.” When asked about the first week of practice, Junior Cameron Beardsley went on to say “it was a really good atmosphere and all of my teammates are excited for this upcoming season, but we have work to do still.”
