Valley Heights USD #498

The Valley Heights agriculture chapter traveled on January 15 to Wamego to compete in the speech category. There were many students that brought their speeches to the competition. In the senior prepared speech- Wes Denton 3^rd place and a state qualifier. Junior prepared speech- Abigail Steinfort took 1^st. Freshman prepared speech- Emma Brungardt 1^st place, Dakota Gillig 3^rd, Taylor Crook 6^th. Extra Freshman speech- Ethan Kenworthy 2^nd. Job team interview A team- Wes Denton 1^st state qualifier, Rylie Borgerding 4^th. B team job interview- Dakota Gillig 3^rd, Sophie Brungardt 6^th. Creed- Taylor Crook 14^th. “The team was very prepared for the speeches. I put a lot of work into the speeches and got the results I had worked for,” said Wes Denton.” This year we took advantage of our time and got to perform in front of the community.” Emma Brungardt was very proud of herself and said, “For this being my first year in the Ag speech competition, it was a good day. I prepared very well and was ready to take the contest. When I got the results I was proud of myself!”
