LOVE IS IN THE AIR. Every February 14th around 19 billion dollars is spent on gifts for Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is one of the most expensive holidays in the United States. The average adult will spend around $130 a year. Families have different traditions and try and make the holiday as fun as possible. “ Our parents always do a riddle and we go around the house trying to find our presents, and we also receive a handwritten letter,” says junior Emma Toerber. Valentine’s Day also isn’t always flowers and heart shaped chocolates. “ I always get a gift card and some candy,” says junior Cameron Beardsley. Whether you’re unattached or not, Valentine’s Day is a way to show your loved ones you care.
