WE DIDN'T START THE FIRE.

The song “We didn’t start the fire,” by singer-piano player, Billy Joel sums up Thursday nights activities during Homecoming as students come to watch the traditional bonfire at the high school.  Bonfires are typically built for a celebration or a large outdoor event, and Valley Heights students were ready to celebrate including the students that came after the junior high games.

One of the other activities at the bonfire was the tug-of-war between the classes with the Juniors winning. “My favorite part of the bonfire was just hanging out with friends and the tug-of-war. I was really hoping juniors would win the tug-a-war because we barely lost to the seniors last year.” said Junior, Hannah Musil.

Other activities included the band playing while the cheerleaders lead the students into cheers as the bonfire went up in flames. “I had so much fun just running around with Emely Rightmire. It was the first bonfire I have ever been too. I can’t wait for next year’s bonfire!” said Seventh grader, Mykalah Little.
