Santa's comes to Waterville

The Waterville Fire Department host the 38th annual Santa's gift shop on December 6. Candice Brooks and Dawn Tryon went to Manhattan, Kansas on Saturday December 1st, and  shopped for all of the gifts. “ Santa's gift shop is one of my favorite times of year, although it was my last year, I will never forget all the awesome memories I have made shopping and helping out. ” said Gillian Zidek, Sr.  Some of the places the two shopped at this year included; The Dollar Tree, Menards, Target and Walmart.

The school also received donations throughout the year. Santa's Gift shop is set up is by categories: Mom, Dad, Teen Boy, Teen Girl, and Kids. Some of the items that were bought this year were toys, candles, candy and much more. Brooks, one of the main helpers who put the workshop together, said “ Santa's gift shop enables our kiddo's to learn the art of giving before receiving and for our families to do this affordably. It also gives an opportunity for the community and high school to interact with the younger students in a positive way.”
