You Are Not Broken

While attending Valley Heights High School, Angel Hornkohl states that “there has been some struggles through the years, but it’s all been worth it.” Angel’s favorite quote, from Linda Pointdexter, claims that “One small crack does not mean that you are broken, it means that you were put to the test and you didn’t fall apart.” Along with this quote, Angel’s motivation comes from her mother. “She was my best friend, my go-to person. I promised myself that I would make her proud, and always keep her in my heart.”

During her high school career, Angel has participated in FCCLA, KAY’s, the All School Play, Forensics, and Art Club. However, Angel’s favorite memory was during her 8th grade year when Mr. Bargdill had them run to the stop sign and back. “On the way back, I jumped over the black bars surrounding the corners of the parking lot, tripped, and split my knee open, resulting in stitches.”

Angel describes herself as outgoing but shy. With these characteristics, she has achieved the accomplishment of getting over her fear of riding roller coasters. Upon leaving Valley Heights, she wants to be remembered as being loud and caring towards those around her.

After graduation, Angel plans on taking a year off and then applying to college to get a bachelor’s degree in Labor and Delivery Nursing. Along with this career, Angel wishes to start a family and live a healthy life.
