Physics is the study of matter and energy and the relationships between the two.   The first semester is devoted to Mechanics, the study of motion and the forces that produce or change the motion.  The focus of the second semester is on Energy and its various forms (heat, light, electricity & nuclear energy).

Pre-requisites:
    Algebra I
    Geometry
Algebra II (or be taking Alg. II concurrently)
Must be a junior or senior

Physics and Chemistry are offered on an alternate year basis, with Physics being on the school years that begin with an even number (2008, 2010, etc.)

General Topics of Study:
    Math Concepts in Physics
    Motion in a straight line
    Graphical analysis of motion
    Forces
    Vectors
    Motion in two dimensions
    Universal Gravitation
    Work, Energy, and Simple Machines
    Energy
    Thermal Energy
    Waves and Energy Transfer
    Sound
    Light and Optics
    Electricity and Magnetism
    Nuclear Energy
