bulletClass

bulletBe Respectful...of yourself, others and the classroom environment

bulletBe Responsible...come to class on time and prepared with your 3-ring binder and pen or pencil.  Habitually coming to class without the necessary supplies may result in a detention.

bulletBe on Task...class participation is required.  Participation is trying to learn, helping others, practicing in groups and pairs, making an effort to speak in Spanish, working on the task given by your teacher.  Staying on task also means working on Spanish, not Math or Science.

bulletHomework

Homework includes written and reading assignments is sometimes assigned.  It will be checked the following day and may be collected.  There will usually be no advance notice on which assignments will be collected.  When absent, it is the student's responsibility to hand in their homework in order to receive credit.

bulletTests/Quizzes

Frequent quizzes will be given throughout each chapter.  Missed tests or quizzes must be made up as soon as possible.  When students score below a 70% on a test, they will frequently be given the opportunity to re-take it.  The re-take will be given the following day between 7:45 and 8:10 a.m.

bulletNotebooks

Students are expected to have a 3-ring binder.  Students are expected to keep their vocabulary sheets and all class handouts in their binders.

bulletProjects

Projects will be assigned periodically.  Projects may included oral presentations, visual presentations, written compositions, or a combination of these.  These projects will be graded and will received a test grade.

bulletInternet Exercises

Students will periodically be assigned exercises that will have to be done over the Internet.  These will sometimes be completed during the class period or may be assigned as homework.   If students do not have internet access at home, they are able to use the school's computers, before or after school, during seminar or on one of the evenings that the library is open.

bulletExtra Credit

Extra credit will not be offered.  My philosophy is that if a student is either not able to keep up with the regular class work or chooses to skip assignments, opportunity will not be given to raise their grade at the end of a grading period.  There is plenty of opportunity throughout the year to do well in Spanish class.

bulletExtra Help

I am available for extra help in Room 108 every day before school from 7:45 to 8:10 a.m.  See me after class or email me to arrange a convenient time.
