Recognition Well Deserved

“I already know that I’m going to cry, it’s just something I need to prepare for,” says senior parent, Kimberly Hardin. On October 1st, the Valley Heights Mustangs held the annual parents’ night. “This is a night to honor the senior athletes competing in volleyball and cross country. It’s definitely an emotional night for both players and parents,” says senior Shae Murk.

“The volleyball girls really wanted to show our parents how much their constant support meant to us through the years, so we each wrote a letter to give them,” explained Kate Wanamaker. These letters were presented to the parents at half court, along with a bouquet of flowers and a candy bar.

The seniors included volleyball players Kennedy Stevenson, Shae Murk, Kate Wanamaker, Sam Vermetten, and Sam Hardin. The senior cross country runners were Abby Lister and Sam Vermetten.

“Parents’ Night is such an amazing event that allows the parents to congratulate their children on all the hard work and effort shown in the fall sports,” says Kimberly Hardin.
