The Valley Heights agriculture chapter traveled on January 15 to Wamego to compete in the speech category. There were many students that brought their speeches to the competition. In the senior prepared speech- Wes Denton 3rd place and a state qualifier. Junior prepared speech- Abigail Steinfort took 1st. Freshman prepared speech- Emma Brungardt 1st place, Dakota Gillig 3rd, Taylor Crook 6th. Extra Freshman speech- Ethan Kenworthy 2nd. Job team interview A team- Wes Denton 1st state qualifier, Rylie Borgerding 4th. B team job interview- Dakota Gillig 3rd, Sophie Brungardt 6th. Creed- Taylor Crook 14th. “The team was very prepared for the speeches. I put a lot of work into the speeches and got the results I had worked for,” said Wes Denton.” This year we took advantage of our time and got to perform in front of the community.” Emma Brungardt was very proud of herself and said, “For this being my first year in the Ag speech competition, it was a good day. I prepared very well and was ready to take the contest. When I got the results I was proud of myself!”
