USD #498 and USD #380 are expanding social service programs for the 2018-2019 school year. Shelly Crome has been hired as a Family Advocate to serve district students and families and to provide social services for preschools and Parents as Teachers programs. This is a new service through a HRSA Grant and will include the development and implementation of a Mobile Family Resource Center (MFRC) to serve the communities within the two school districts. Although the MFRC will be developed during this school year, it will not be implemented until the 2019-2020 school year. However, Shelly will still be available to guide families to resources this school year. The School Social Worker will also continue to serve the two districts with Lacey Greenwood being hired as the new licensed master’s social worker. Shelly and Lacey will work together to ensure families are able to meet students’ needs to make them successful.
