Jr. High Scholars Bowl Team

BUZZ FIRST. THINK LATER. This saying can be heard at least once at every Scholar’s Bowl meet. The Valley Heights Jr. High Scholar’s Bowl team has had an interesting season. There is a big team of great competitors. Dino Conti said, ”My favorite memory was beating Luckey at Clifton-Clyde because Luckey is a really competitive team."

The varsity team included Dawson Vermetten, Dino Conti, Paige Miller, Avery Stevenson, Everson Parker, Kynadee Bishop, Abigail Thorn, Shaylee Ekstrum, Lindsay Gray, Tessa Bigham, and Jaqueline Sandoval. “That group was full of intelligent and amazing eighth graders,” said Mrs. Haefke, the Junior High Scholar’s Bowl coach. The Junior Varsity team was all seventh graders and included  Julia Heinen, Julian Crook, Tyler Holmes, Leah Steinfort, Macy Stoudt, and Grant Pralle. Grant Pralle said, “I really liked Scholar's Bowl because it was fun to learn new things and compete with friends."

Mrs. Heafke’s favorite thing about this season was seeing the excitement at both practices and competition. “The team just had so much fun when they were practicing and competing, that it's impossible not to enjoy it.” The team had a great season and they took third place at their first meet.
