“HUMOR IN ART.”

This year, the Twin Valley League Art competition is being held at Valley Heights on Monday, April 3rd. Students all over the league will bring in their art pieces to be judged. While the main competition is going on in the gym, the Ag and Art rooms will be filled with students going to different workshops. These workshops will be: decorating trading cards, art history ceiling tile contests, art teacher self portraits, and ‘can you meme it?’ The theme that is throughout the workshops and competition is Humor In Art.

“We were blessed with great facilities and since I have been here since the beginning and I have hosted it successfully in the past, I took on the challenge of doing it again. Also, with our most recent purchase, thanks to the foundation, we received very nice galvanized panels that are not portable, so we will be hosting TVL Art here at Valley Heights every year,” explains art teacher, Kaci Smith.

As April is rapidly approaching, Mrs. Smith and her art students are hard at work trying to put all the pieces together and organize a fantastic show for these competitors. Senior, Addy Bargdill, is one of Valley Heights competitors and helpers, when asked what she is most excited for she said, “Getting to make the trophies and maybe even earning one!”
