SPINNING A NEW PRODUCTION. The Junior High program continues to improve; offering more and more activities to young students in hopes of preparing them for the future. You may have attended Valley Heights High School’s production of “Silver’s Secret” this past fall. The entertainment hardly stops there. Lynette Steele-Coon, the Junior High drama teacher, is excited to be working on a second production starring her up-and-coming Junior High actors and actresses. “I am excited to give new students an opportunity to be on stage for the first time and for the audience and their parents to see all the hard work they have put into it.”

For the second time in Valley Heights history, the Jr. High Drama Class will be spinning off of the classic book, Charlotte's Web. “We have put in lots and lots of practice. They are not only working on memorization but this is also their first time getting on stage,” Mrs. Coon states. She had a lot of fun casting the different students as the characters that she felt fit best. Eighth grader, Callie Schmidt, is portraying Fern. Callie is excited to show her own version of the young farm girl. “I grew up on a farm so I can pull from my own memories and enhance Fern’s character.” She is most excited for opening night. “The public should come out and see this production, not only to support us, but also because it is funny and would be great entertainment,” Callie says.

Charlotte’s Web will be performed on April 25th at the Valley Heights Jr./Sr. High School at 7:00.  The free will donation will be used to support the future of the program. The students are incredibly excited to get on stage and show their community where all their hard work has gotten them.
