Carson Spoonts Posing for Media Day Photos

PEAK PERFORMANCE. “Pain unlocks a secret doorway in the mind, one that leads to both peak performance and beautiful silence," quote by David Goggins. This quote personifies Carson Spoonts as an individual. This quote speaks to him because he aspires to remain at his peak to perform at a high level. Carson James Spoonts was born on March 4, 2006 in Onaga, Kansas to Sean and Amy Spoonts. He has two siblings with his sister Teagan, and brother Garrison. While Carson was born in Onaga, he grew up in Eureka, Kansas playing football and basketball for the Tornados. Carson has many people that have impacted his life but his dad is the one who has had the largest impact. “ He pushes me to be better in every way. every single day,” says Carson. Carson’s ideal Saturday night includes recovering from football games with some fajitas and listening to “Freaks” by Surf Curse.

Carson is very focused and dedicated when it comes to sports. His plan after high school is to compete at a high level in college football. His ultimate goal is to play for the Kansas State Wildcats. Carson has been involved in Journalism, the All School Play, Stuco, and the Mustangs Mentor program for one year; Track for two years, Vocal for three years, FCA, Football and Basketball for four years between both Valley Heights and Eureka. When asked about what his favorite memory at Valley Heights is so far, Carson says, “ On the way back from the Rossville football camp we began to smell something that was burning. It turns out that the breaks had almost caught fire.”

When Carson graduates from Valley Heights, he wants to be remembered as one of the best athletes to come out of the school. To back up this statement, his advice to underclassmen is to “Take sports and activities more seriously when you're younger so when you enter high school you’re the best player you can be.”
