SCIENTIA SET POTENTIA “ Science\Knowledge is power” This quote speaks to Brooke Porter because it represents life to her. She says, “the more you know, the easier it will be.” Brooke Madison Porter was born on September 27, 2005 to parents Nicole and Bryce Porter in Waterville,KS. Brooke is the older sister to Krista Porter. Brooke has been involved in Art Club 3 years, FFA 4 years, NHS 2 years, Stuco 3 years, FACS 1 year, Band 1 year, Mustang Tough 1 year, Basketball 3 years, Volleyball 4 years, Track 4 years and Class president 3 years. Brooke’s plans after high school are to attend Kansas State University to study Pre-Vet or Animal Science.

Brooke claims her mother has been very supportive through her high school career. “My mom has influenced me the most. I have been learning a lot from her from the time l was young and have experienced some really awesome things with her.”  Last fall, Brooke decided to attend KSU.  “I’ve always been a wildcat fan, both of my parents went there and K-State just offers the best programs for me,”she says.

Brooke’s favorite memory from high school goes back to the FFA convention her sophomore year. It was around Halloween when Caleb Hornkohl was taunting the bouncer in the haunted house they attended. The bouncer followed them all the way back to their car parking lot. She felt creeped out, but now she finds it amusing. Five years from now Brooke sees herself as,“graduating from college, and then going into a PHD  program. I hope to be engaged to my boyfriend and have a good job. ”

Brooke will be remembered for her kindness and contagious smile. Her sister, Krista Porter, said, “ I'm very sad because Brooke has always been someone I can talk to and she's been my best friend all these years.” Some advice Brooke wants to give underclassmen is,“ It is perfectly fine to be yourself and not follow social “norms” of our society. People are always going to judge you, and in four years, it's not going to matter anymore. Who cares what they think, BE YOU!!!”
