Audra Steinfort

Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Senior Audra Steinfort said, “I love this bible verse because it gives me a certain peace that I do not have to have my whole life planned out because the Lord already has that done for me. I know that those plans are not to harm me but to help me fulfill God’s will if I follow them.

Audra Ruth Steinfort was born to Susan and Kenny Steinfort on June 27, 2005. Audra  has one older sister, Abigail, one younger sister, Leah, and a younger brother, Ethan. Throughout Audra’s life she has had many people impact her life in many different ways. One person she will never forget is her Grandpa Harry. “He has always been my biggest role model, I’ve never been afraid to have a deep conversation with him about any topic. The biggest thing I can thank him for is the light of Christ he has been throughout my life. He has shown me how to be a good worker on the farm, in the classroom, and with everything I do. He is always there to support me and the Valley Heights sports teams throughout all our ups and downs.”

Growing up in Blue Rapids, Kansas Audra said her favorite memory as a child was getting ice cream at the corner store in her pjs and following that up with family drives. “I will never forget the hotel room in Dodge City my junior year of state volleyball, it was a night to remember. High school goes fast and kids don’t understand how fast it really goes."  Audra then goes on to share some great advice, “You are lucky to be in a school where the teachers are on your side. All of the teachers at Valley Heights want to see you walk the stage on your graduation day. Take advantage of that! Go ask for help if you need it because they are so willing to help out!”

Outside of school you can find Audra continuing her memories and getting ice cream at the corner store, going on sunset drives with her little sister, Leah and spending time with her friends. When you look at Audra you can easily determine she is a self-driven and motivated person that is extremely caring and would do anything for anyone. She works to leave a great legacy behind as she leaves Valley Heights, “I want people to remember that I am a Christian. I want to be remembered as someone who was always available if they needed anything.”

Throughout Audra’s time at Valley Heights, she has been a part of: Journalism, the All School Play, FFA, KAY, NHS, StuCo, Forensics, FCA, Mustang Mentor, Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and Cheer. Outside of school Audra has also participated in 4-H, Monday’s with Jesus, the Berean Church youth group, she is a member of the New Hope Church, VBS, and Pastor search committee.

After High School, Audra plans on attending Fort Hays University to obtain her elementary education and early childhood degree. Ten years down the road, Audra hopes to find herself in her very own classroom teaching young children!
