Uptown Dunk

UPTOWN DUNK “This team is very hardworking. They continue to get better every single day and I’m eager to see what the rest of the season brings, "says Coach Nolte, head junior high boys basketball coach.

The A team boys’ record this year so far is 2-4. “At this point in the season we are doing better than we were doing last year,” said 8th grader Jacob Vathauer. There is a lot of talent from this young team. With 18 boys out, 13 in seventh and only 5 in eighth, Nolte says that 18 is a perfect number because they can play  A, B, and C team games.

“The jump from elementary and junior high basketball is a lot different but I’m really enjoying it,” said 7th grader Langston Gray. There are a lot of 7th graders playing this year, the adjustment is much different but the experience is making them improve tremendously. “We get to play and practice so much more than we did in the elementary league, so we’ve gotten a lot better,” said Kaine Seleska.

The boys team is very excited for the rest of their season as they grow and prepare for more games. They are off to a strong start and are hoping to keep it that way.
