UPTOWN DUNK PART 2

UPTOWN DUNK PART 2. Six games in and the Junior High girls basketball team continues to get better and better each and every day. “My all time favorite practice drill is Box Out Drill because I love the intensity that comes with the drill,” said eight grader, Leah Steinfort. The girls have played Hanover, Blue Valley, Linn, Clifton Clyde, Frankfort, and Washington, with a current record of 3-3.

This year the A-Team has had some great help from some seventh graders that get significant minutes on the court. Teagan Spoonts has also stepped in and had significant minutes. Teagan said, “Our team is really good about pushing through tough times and coming back. I am very excited to see where this season takes us!” The team has worked hard from the beginning of the season striving to make it far into the BVL tournament at the end of the season.

Eight grader, Juliet Busey, has also helped significantly in two different games this season. She sank a three pointer against Clifton Clyde to stretch the win of the game and later that week shot a deep three to win the Frankfort game. “Every night before I go to bed I read this poster on my wall that reads, You Miss 100% of the Shots You Don’t Take. This poster reminds me that I will miss the chances of making the shots that I don’t, so I shoot the ball.” The Junior High girls team will be playing Thursday November 30, 2023 at home against Hanover.
