Valley Heights took on Jefferson County North in the first round of the playoffs on October 31. In the first quarter the team started off slow and trailed 14-12. In the second quarter the team came together and scored 28 points and lead at the half 40-20. Jake Yungeberg rushed for 195 yards and five scores, Cole Coggins added 71 yards and 2 scores, while Cameron Beardsley added 207 yards and one score. The team is sitting at 7-2 on the season and has a tough matchup this week against Jackson Heights.
Traveling to Jackson Heights this week is going to be a tough matchup for both teams. “We have lots to improve on from last time we played these guys. Our defense has to play good and we can come out on top.” said Cesar Aguirre, the Junior Tackle. “We have yet to beat these guys and it is our time to do so!”
