HOMECOMING HYPE. The annual homecoming festivities are soon to begin as the Valley Heights Mustangs will be taking on the Bennington Bulldogs next Friday, October 3. From dress-up days to the cherished Homecoming parade, there is something for everyone to take part in during the week!
To show their school spirit the VHHS students will be dressing up and participating in the Homecoming dress-up days. Monday is Zoo vs. Zookeeper, Tuesday is Dynamic Duo, Wednesday is Hallo-Wednesday, Thursday is Emo Day, and Friday is Mustang Spirit Day.
On Wednesday, October 1, FCA begins at 6:30, Spikefest at 7:15, and Powderpuff at 8:00. Immediately following is the Homecoming Bonfire, where students cheer, watch candidate games, and each class competes against each other in a game of tug of war.
The Homecoming parade will be at 2 on Friday at the Blue Rapids Square. A Community-Wide Tailgate will be behind the concession stand at 5:30 and Booster Club will be a serving a meal.
The game will start with kick off at 7 and the crowning of Homecoming Royalty at halftime. Following the game, will be the Homecoming Dance that all high school students are invited and encouraged to attend.
This year's Homecoming King candidates are Brady DeWalt, Creighton Smith, and Lawson Stryker and the Queen candidates are Krista Porter, Ella Swearingen, and Mia Vermetten.
