SAVE A LIFE: MAKE A DONATION. According to the National Institute of Health, students donate about 1 million pints of blood per year. FACS hosted a blood drive at the high school on Tuesday, November 4. FACS is a club that focuses on family and consumer sciences. Tessa Bigham, FACS President says “We had a very good turnout, many of our members themselves donated or helped work making it very successful.” Tessa’s favorite memory from the blood drive is after she donated blood and passed out while walking back to the snack table. Avery Stevenson also donated blood, she shares “It's definitely for a good cause, even with side effects it's worth it even though it is a little scary.” This blood drive was able to provide the American Red Cross with 31 units.
