DON’T WISH IT WERE EASIER, WISH YOU WERE BETTER. Creighton Roy Smith was born on February 18, 2008 to Ashley and Jonas Smith. Creighton grew up on his family's farm outside of Waterville with his five siblings, Damon, Ashton, Haley, Taya, and Isabella. Creighton has been a part of FFA and football 4 years; track 3 years; All School Play and FCA 2 years; and band, StuCo, and Art Club 1 year. Creighton’s leadership roles include being football captain his senior year. Someone who has the biggest impact on Creighton’s life is his father because he has taught him how to work hard, and to go after what he wants in life.
Creighton’s favorite memory in high school was when the girls basketball team won sub-state and got to go to state in Dodge City. His most triumphant accomplishment in high school is making it to sub-state in football his junior year. Hobbies that Creighton enjoys is that he likes to go fishing, hunting, and working for Landmark Implement. Creighton’s perfect Saturday night is hanging out with the boys. His favorite song while driving around with his friends is “Call me Maybe,” by Carly Rae Jepsen. Some other facts about Creighton is his favorite quote is “Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better,” by Jim Rohn and his favorite food is BBQ.
After high school Creighton plans on attending Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska for John Deere technician schooling so he can become a John Deere mechanic. Creighton’s future dreams are to have a loving wife, to have kids, and to live a good happy life. When Creighton leaves the Valley Heights community, he wants to be remembered as being a nice and caring person. Some great advice that Creighton would like to give underclassmen is, “Live your life having fun.”
