Josie

SADDLE UP ANYWAYS.  Josie Lynn Parker was born on July 13, 2007. She was raised by her parents Brett and Amanda Parker alongside her younger sisters Nora, Ellie, Janey, and Gracie. A quote that Josie lives by is, “Courage is being scared to death but saddle up anyways.” This is Josie’s favorite quote because she is always put in difficult situations but someone has to do it so she steps up. Josie’s family has had the biggest impact on her life because they are super compassionate to everyone and also business smart.

One thing most people don’t know about Josie is that she loves skiing and tubing on the lake. She also loves when her dad takes a detour while on the backroads and shows the family some amazing views and shares stories from back in his day.  Josie’s ideal Saturday night is going out with her friends or having a big dinner and then riding horses in the yard with her family.

Some of her favorite artists are Turnpike Troubadours, Chris Ledoux, and Treaty Oak Revival.

If Josie gets tired of that music she says, “I can never go wrong with occasional ‘white girl’ music.” Her favorite meal is a steak and a good dessert. An accomplishment Josie is most proud is the 52 head cow herd that she bought her Freshman year.

One memory from high school she will never forget is state volleyball her junior year.

Josie has been involved in FFA, Basketball, and Volleyball four years and Mustang Mentor one year. Josie’s future plans after graduating high school are going to college and majoring in agriculture, experiencing as much as she can, and then being as successful as she can. Some future goals for Josie is hoping to have a huge house with lots of animals like cows and horses, and a beautiful house barn with an indoor arena. She also hopes to be financially stable by the time she's thirty. In ten years, Josie sees herself traveling, making new friends and memories, before coming home to run her own feedlot while also having a husband, children, and a nice home. When she leaves the community, Josie wants to be remembered in the lyrics of Craig Morgan, as a “God-Fearing, Harworking, Combine Driver.”
