STRENGTH. James Anthony Bohlken was born on July 31, 2008 to his parents Tawnya and Jacob Bohlken. “Where there’s no struggle, there’s no strength,” is his favorite quote because it shows that his growth throughout high school can be applied to his future. James has one older sister, Jessie. He says, “My parents have had the biggest influence on me because they started a business from nothing. This proves you can do anything if you put your mind to it.” One thing most people might not know about James is that he loves to go fishing. James’ ideal Friday night is hanging out with his friends and going out for Mexican.
Throughout James’ high school years, he has been involved in Art Club and Football 4 years; Vocal and Baseball 3 years; All School Play 2 years; FACS and Track 1 year. James spent most of his time focusing on football and he’s most proud of how far his team made it junior year. His favorite high school memory was going to State Volleyball his junior year and staying in an AirBnB with his friends.
After high school James plans to attend Washburn University. In 10 years, James sees himself with a growing family and living in a nice house in the city. His advice to underclassmen would be to take your grades seriously. When James leaves the Valley Heights community, he hopes to be remembered as a good football player.
