4N6. The Forensics season is off to a great start! They have been to three meets so far, at Republic County, Rock Creek, and Riley County. The results for Republic County, are as follows: Carter Germann placed 1st in Solo Acting Serious and 2nd prose,  Julia Heinen placed 1st Informative and 2nd Solo Acting Humorous, Dino Conti 4th Solo Acting Humorous, Dino and Julia 1st Improvised Duet Acting, Abigail Thorn 3rd Solo Acting Serious, Abigail and Guen Conti 4th Duet. 

At Rock Creek the Mustangs brought home 4th place as a team. Students placed as follows: Carter Germann placed 1st Solo Acting Serious and 1st Prose, Julia Heinen 2nd Solo Acting Humorous and 2nd Informative, Dino Conti 6th Solo Acting Humorous, Lawson Stryker 1st Original Oration, Lawson and Dino 3rd Improvised Duet Acting. 

At the Riley County meet Carter Germann placed 1st in Prose and 1st Solo Acting Serious, Abigail Thorn placed 2nd in Poetry and 4th Solo Acting Serious, Guen Conti and Abigail placed 4th in Duet, Klara McIntyre placed 6th in Informative, and Bryce Wittgartner placed 7th in Solo Acting Humorous.

Senior Lawson Stryker said “Being in forensics has helped me improve my public speaking skills while also being competitive.”  While freshman Guen Conti shared that her season is going really well, outside of getting to know her pieces, she's proud to say she has placed a couple times and broke at two meets!

So far Julia, Carter, Lawson, Dino, and Abigail have qualified to compete in the state championship in May. Next Saturday, March 7, the team will host a tournament at the high school. Be sure to wish them lots of luck as they continue their season.
