BETTER THAN PERFECT. Calee Nicole Cooney was born on May 18, 2007, to Jamie Wachsnicht and Mike Cooney. Calee has two younger siblings, Cassie and Natalee. Calee’s ideal Friday night is spending time with her friends or staying in to enjoy a good movie or book. Calee’s mother has had the biggest impact on her life because she has always been there for her, and has helped with anything she may need.

When asked what her favorite song was, Calee couldn’t narrow it down to one, but rather three. Calee’s go-to songs are“I Told You Things” by Gracie Abrams, “Tim McGraw” cover by Maggie Rogers, and “Vienna” by Billy Joel. Her favorite kind of food is pasta, more specifically Fettuccine Alfredo. “Done is better than perfect” is a phrase she sometimes applies to projects or assignments, because most things don't need to be perfect; they can be just fine.

One activity Calee’s been involved in all four years of high school is vocal. A favorite memory of the activity was when Carter Germann spilled his vanilla milkshake all over the bus during a vocal trip sophomore year. Calee’s plans after high school are to attend Washburn University to major in psychology and one day become a professional psychologist. In 10 years, she plans to be employed, as well as married with kids. Advice Calee would like to pass on to underclassmen is to never give up, no matter how hard it gets. After leaving Valley Heights, Calee wants to be remembered as always giving her best effort in school.
