According to, approximately 40,000 pints of blood are used each day in the United States. One out of every seven people entering the hospital need blood. One donation has the potential to save as many as 3 lives and 3 teaspoons of blood can save a baby's life. Valley Heights is putting on its very own blood drive again this year on November 7th from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at the Valley Heights High School.

“I have given blood myself many times before. Some experiences were excellent and some were not so good. I hope to be able to give blood again this year.” says Jay Little, returning blood donor and father of Mydajah and Mykalah Little.

“The blood drive is put on by FCCLA. I have given blood every time I am able. I enjoy putting on the blood drive because we are saving lives and I wouldn’t be here today if someone hadn’t donated blood when I was a baby. I also love the fact that the Red Cross gives us scholarship money based on the units of blood that we receive.” Rhonda Joseph, Jr. / Sr. High School teacher and FCCLA sponsor.
