OKLAHOMA, WHERE THE WIND COMES SWEEPIN’ DOWN THE PLAIN.

“My favorite part is probably the singing and dancing.” said Lynette Coon, director of the Valley Heights All School Play, “Oklahoma!” The musical was preformed  November 10th, 11th, and 12th at the Waterville Opera House.

Tifanie Jean Martin, of Waterville, attended the play on Sunday and said, “The All School Play, Oklahoma was the best I’ve ever seen. Amazing talent. Our family is so, so glad we went. Kudos to Lynette Steele-Coon and Kim Oatney, lighting crew, behind-the-scenes, and every single actor? Very, very impressive!”

Wayne Kruse, of Marysville said of the Sunday Matinee, “"I was blown away by the caliber of talent in this production.  The show was filled with energy, focus, and attention to detail.  Even though the show has main characters I didn't feel like it was 'their' show; I felt the show belonged to the entire cast.  Equally impressive were the costumes and sets."

Jacob Banks, sophomore said “My favorite character is Aunt Eller because she’s a very funny and open character. She does have a bit of a wild side, but she still tries to make peace. My favorite part of the play is when Aunt Eller yells at Ali Hakim and threatens to shove an eggbeater down his throat. My favorite song would have to be the Farmer and the Cowman. I wanted to join the play because I wanted to try something new and step out of my comfort zone.”

Hannah Musil, junior, joined the play not only for the acting aspect, but also for the comradeship. “The bond we create as a cast is something special. My favorite character is Ali Hakim. He is such a funny role and Jackson O’Toole made it ten times better. My favorite part of the whole play is the Farmer and the Cowman scene when Aunt Eller shoots the gun after the fight scene and everyone is scared to death. Sadly, I was not in that scene. My favorite song is Many a New Day or Oklahoma.”
