BUILDING A FUTURE. Dino Allen Conti was born on November 17, 2008 to Shannon and Riccardo Conti. He is the only boy in a family with three other girls; Harmony, Guen, and Aurora. Conti has many goals lined up for his future. After high school he plans to attend Kansas State University to major in Civil Engineering. After graduating college, he hopes to work for a good engineering firm as a lead civil engineer with a focus on structural engineering. Looking even further into the future, in 10 years Conti hopes to have a steady job with no debt and beginning to start a family.
Dino has accomplished many things throughout his high school career but the one he is most proud of is being elected class president by his fellow classmates two years in a row. Something that most people don’t know about Dino is that he plays the game from Stranger Things, Dungeons and Dragons, once a week with his dad and his friends. Dino also loves playing his trumpet and hopes to one day play in the K-State Marching Band. His ideal Friday is winning the football game that was played that night and then going to the 5th quarter to hangout with friends and eat pancakes. His favorite high school memory is going to the Future Rural Teacher Day at K-State… "if you know, you know." Conti’s senior mentor, Mr. Ehrlich says, “Dino holds many positive characteristics including creativeness, empathy, determination, and motivation. I can see him thriving at K-State, graduating with a 4.0, and having a successful career.”
If Dino could give any advice to underclassmen, he would tell them to not let little things get in the way of your friendships. “You’ve been growing with your class for years, don’t let a few small things break you apart.” After leaving high school, Dino hopes to be remembered as a good person and someone who everyone just felt welcome around. The biggest impact on Dino’s life has been his family. “They have taught me so much but most of all to be humble and overall a good person.”
Conti has been overly involved through high school. He has been involved in the All School Play, Band, FBLA, FCA, Forensics, KAYS, Scholars Bowl, Baseball, and Football 4 years; FFA, NHS, and StuCo 2 years; Art Club, Vocal, and Basketball 1 year. Additional leadership roles that Dino has been appointed or awarded are FCA leadership team 3 years; Class President, Football Leadership, Band 1st Chair and Section Leader 2 years; Class Vice President, StuCo Vice President, NHS Vice President, and FBLA Vice President 1 year. Outside of school, you can find Dino participating in 4-H and going to youth group in Marysville.
Iconic Star Wars character, Yoda, famously stated, “Do or do not, there is no try.” This quote speaks to Conti because it motivates him to keep trying even if he doesn’t want to, and reminds him to work as hard as he can in order to reach his goals.
Dino will continue to do great things throughout the course of high school and into college. He has many goals in store and many people are eager to see what he does to accomplish them.
