Lindsay

MAKE THE MOST OF EVERYDAY. Lindsay Ilene Gray was born September 30, 2008 to Brian and Jill Gray. She has two siblings, an older brother Logan, and a younger brother Langston. Lindsay has been involved in the All School Play, KAY, Basketball, Cross Country, and Softball 4 years, Track 3 years, FACS 2 years, and Band and FLBA 1 year. She has had many leadership roles within these activities including Softball Captain 2 years and Class Vice President 1 year. Some non-school activities she is involved in is officiating softball and baseball throughout the year and helping at the University Christian Church in Manhattan.

Lindsay’s favorite quote is “You can’t add days to your life but you can add life to your days.” This is her favorite quote because it is a simple reminder to keep making the most of what you have and control what you can control by seeking joy in the little things. One memory she will never forget is her junior year of cross country, when the team hitched a ride with a local farmer so they wouldn’t have to run the entire 6 miles at practice. Lindsay’s ideal Friday night is hanging out with friends and chasing the sunset. Something you may not know about her is that she can shred the ski slopes. An accomplishment Lindsay is most proud of is qualifying for state track and also sticking with cross country for 4 years when she dislikes running.

The people that have had the biggest impact on her life are her parents, Brian and Jill. “They have taught me how to be resilient, open minded, respectful, and everything I know today! They influenced my views of life through traveling; seeing how different people live has helped me to view life differently.” Some advice Lindsay would give to the underclassmen is to make the most of the time you have and to not get caught up in the little world of high school because there is so much more out there.

After high school, Lindsay plans on attending a 4 year college to major in Nursing. In 10 years, she sees herself happily working a full time job. When Lindsay leaves Valley Heights, she wants to be remembered as a person who would always help out when needed and also being the reason someone smiles.
