POST-SEASON PUSH. So far the Mustang football team has had a great season. Their current record is 5-2 pulling off wins against Doniphan West, Republic County, Jackson Heights, Valley Falls, and Onaga. This week the boys will face the Wabaunsee Chargers. They hold a record of 3-5 and the Mustangs are excited to have the opportunity to host one more home game. Off the field the team is excited to continue in other traditions. Senior Hayden Pierson shared, “We definitely have an advantage going into this game since we get to host, hopefully we can use that advantage in our favor.” Sophomore Brady Anderson says, “Playing in front of the whole community one more time this year is what I’m the most excited for. Being the higher seed is something I look forward to as we enter this week.”
Head Coach Cody Trimble says, “Post season is always exciting and going into it we finally have most of our players healthy. It’s great to be able to play at home so we can have our normal pre-game routine and not have to travel.”
Off the field, the team is eager to carry on other traditions. Hayden continued to share, "I am most excited for playoff haircuts. We do them every year and it has become a funny tradition."
All together this group of boys have put together an impressive season. They are all excited to see what the post season brings and the success that will come along with it.
