HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

Christmas is a very special time of the year, with families coming together to see each other for the holidays. This year is particularly special because of COVID last year, causing some families to not get together.

Many families have different traditions. Haily Stoudt says, “our family tradition is opening one gift on christmas eve as a family.” Anne Toerber explains, “my favorite traditions are driving around town with my family looking at Christmas lights, getting the tree the day after Thanksgiving and decorating the next day. Baking cookies for our neighbors, and waiting at the bottom of the stairs with my siblings on Christmas morning, until my dad calls down the stairs, to see what presents we had waiting for us under the tree.” “Christmas is my favorite holiday because it is the only one where our entire family is together. Our traditions are going to church on Christmas morning and all of us kids rotate who gets to put the angel on the top of the tree every year,” Audra Steinfort explained. “My favorite dish at Christmas dinner is the oyster soup. Our family traditions are playing card games like uno or slap jack, and opening one present on Christmas eve and the rest in the morning,” says Drake Slifer.

Christmas brings joy and happiness to many people, like Drake’s family who starts decorating for Christmas the day after Halloween. Happy Holidays!
