Serious Solo Finals

INSIDE JOKES AND INTERESTING FOLK. “My favorite thing about forensics is all of the inside jokes and interesting people we meet,” says four-year forensics veteran, Abigail Steinfort. This year’s forensics season is off to a great start. The first meet was 1/22 at Republic County. The forensics class and team are the biggest they have been in years. The team will have 21 competitors this season. They will be going to eight regular competitions, TVL, and finally State.

Valley Heights competitors will be participating in seven different events this year including: prose, poetry, solo acting serious, duo interpretation, informative speaking, original oration speech, extemporaneous speaking, and improvised duet acting. The team will have ten members competing in prose, three in SAS, one pair in duet acting, three in poetry, two in extemp, and two pairs in IDA. The speech entries have not yet been finalized.

All things considered, this forensics season is looking very bright, with plenty of participants and opportunities to compete. Sophomore, Tyrel Wagner, says, “I got into forensics, because I’ve always been interested in drama and acting and it wasn’t offered at my old school.” Results from each meet will be posted to the Valley Heights facebook page as they happen.
