YOU BRING THE GAME. WE’LL BRING THE CHEER. #MustangTough “Hey Mustangs fans are ya there? Yeah! Wave your hands in the air. Feel it like a Mustang. Say it like a Mustang. We are the best!” The Valley Heights Cheerleaders use this cheer to get the crowd involved in cheering on the Mustangs. Khloe Gunn, freshman, says, “This is my first year being a cheerleader and I have enjoyed every minute of it from camp, to cheering on the boys under the Friday night lights. I love getting to travel to all of the basketball games and cheer on the Mustangs. We end up spending a lot of time together and it's just like any other team you end up becoming a family. I think that's what makes cheer so fun!”
To kick off the season, the cheer team had a camp this summer where Universal Cheerleading Association cheerleaders came to Valley Heights and taught the girls different cheers and different routines. They had a lock-in and all of the cheerleaders stayed the night together and made posters for the upcoming seasons. The new cheers and new routines they learned have been showcased at different performances throughout the school year.
Four year cheerleader, Elle Brooks says, “I enjoy spending time with the girls and being a part of a team. We always end up having many laughs in the van rides and it makes it so fun. I will definitely miss cheer next year!”
