Jasmine Gartner

NEVER GIVE UP. “Don't give up when things get hard because even when things get hard, you should still push to finish what you started, ''says Jasmine Gartner, Senior at Valley Heights. Jasmine Nicole Gartner was born October 7, 2003 to Lori Zabokrtsky and Curtis Gartner. She has four siblings; Olivia and Josh Gartner, Cody Evans, and Shawna Amburgey. Jasmine’s ideal Friday night is either watching TV with her family, or going out with friends and eating junk food. Jasmine’s favorite songs are; “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line, “Down to One,” and “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” by Luke Bryan.

Throughout High School, Jasmine has been involved in Basketball, Cross Country, and Track and Field. Jasmine’s favorite memory from Valley Heights was when she fell down three times running the hurdles at a track meet, and still finished the race. She said, “I felt extremely strong by finishing the race although things became very difficult and I didn’t give up.” When Jasmine was asked what advice she would like to give to underclassmen she said, “It’s always better to complete your assignments on time, rather than procrastinating.”

After High School, Jasmine wants to become a Veterinary Technician. In 10 years, she hopes to see herself working full-time with animals as a Veterinary Technician. Jasmine’s biggest impact in her life has not just one person but her entire family. First Hank, for always being there for her since they first met and allowing her to help him work on different projects throughout their time together. Then her brothers, for always calling her out whenever she’s ever going down the wrong path. As Jasmine continues to grow and leave this community she wants to be remembered as a good person and someone people liked to be around.

Mrs. Stevenson had this to say about Jasmine- “As I have gotten to know Jasmine this year, I have come to realize just how many obstacles she has had to overcome to get to the place of preparing to receive her high school diploma. It is an accomplishment that she has worked hard for and can certainly be proud of! Jasmine definitely has a determination and resiliency that I have come to admire, and that I hope her classmates will remember fondly when they look back on their years at Valley Heights.
