SECRET UPCOMING SUPERSTAR. #MustangTough

Hobbies are a good way to fill the time and can end up becoming one of your favorite things to do. Things such as gardening, stamp collecting, scrapbooking, and even playing instruments. Around thirteen percent of people between the ages of sixteen and twenty-four can play some kind of instrument. Junior, Kendelle Sweet, can be counted among the talented percent.

Kendelle is not currently in band class, nor can she read sheet music. Despite this, she has recently taken up the hobby of playing the guitar. “I never knew doing something I was not familiar with could end up being so relaxing,” said Kendelle during our interview. Kendelle practices up to three hours a week, depending on her busy schedule. Her favorite song she has learned so far is “Monster” by Skillet.

When asked how she got into this pastime, she said, “My stepdad, Jeremy, plays the guitar and I couldn’t help but want to play.” Kendelle’s stepdad not only got her into playing guitar, but also has been teaching her to play. “Right now, I own an electric guitar, but eventually I want to also own an acoustic guitar for more variety,” said Kendelle. Some of her friends, such as Addy Bargdill, said, “She is surprisingly very good at playing. I bet she’ll be even better with more practice!” So far, she has been practicing for around three months and plans on continuing her progression throughout her lifetime.
