Destiney

UNSTOPPABLE.

“What makes you weak can only make you stronger, you just have to keep going.” This quote reminds Destiney McLeod to keep pushing forward through the hard times because it will only make her stronger. Destiney hopes to leave Valley Heights being remembered as someone who will always say hi in the hallways to friends and teachers.

Destiney McLeod was born on February 26th, 2003 to Damien McLeod and Erin Hornkohl. She also has four siblings; Angel, Caleb, Stormy, and Takotah. Throughout high school, Destiney was involved in vocal for two years and has enjoyed it a lot. She says, “my favorite memory was when Mr. Stauder, our 6th grade teacher, flooded the toilet and blamed it on Chase Morris.” One of Destiney’s favorite things to do is listen to music by Tim McGraw, her favorite song being “My Little Girl”. Destiney has also been involved in volunteering and babysitting outside of school along with one of her biggest accomplishments- working at the Linn Community Nursing Home for a year.

“My grandma has been my biggest influence through high school and she is always there when I need someone to talk to.” Destiney plans to attend Bellus Academy in Manhattan, Kansas. She also hopes in the future to open her own nail salon.

When asked what type of person Destiney is, Mrs Haefke responded by saying, “whether in class or at work, Destiney works at her best. She is very funny and always makes me laugh. Destiney will be a good employee for whomever she works for in the future, by being a hard worker and bringing humor to those around her.”
