Abigail Steinfort

New Beginnings for Abigail. It all started her seventh grade year when Abigail decided to go out for volleyball. Since then, volleyball has been her favorite sport. All the blood, sweat, and tears since seventh grade year, has led to January 25, 2022 when she decided to commit to the Kansas Wesleyan Volleyball Team. This was not an easy decision for her, another college was also recruiting her, and Abigail wasn’t even planning on playing after high school. Mrs. Coon, Abigail’s mentor, said, “I am very excited for her and I’m glad that not only is Abigail capitalizing upon her academic success but also her athletic potential.”  Throughout her volleyball career, her teammates have been one of the biggest influences on her. Abigail truly loved competing with her teammates and also greatly appreciates the opportunity she had to play for Coach Musil and Coach Steinfort for influencing her on and off the court. She says she would not be the person she is today without any of them.

Abigail is most excited about meeting her new teammates and being a part of the college team. One thing that made this decision easier for Abigail is the impressive business program that Kansas Wesleyan has to offer. Teammate of Abigail since seventh grade, Catherine Toerber, had this to say about Abigail: “Abigail is one of the hardest workers I have ever played with, not just in volleyball but in all aspects of life. It seems like she has never missed a practice or a day of weights, you can always count on Abigail to give 120% in everything she does. I know that with this mentality Abigail will be very successful at the next level and I’m very excited to see what she will accomplish.”
