FORENSICS STATE SHOWCASE. This Forensics season has been incredibly successful. The Valley Heights Forensics team has 19 events qualifying for state competition. 13 of those are for State Champs and 6 are for State Festival.
Qualifiers for Champs include: Senior Aiden Nemechek in Extemporaneous Speech and Poetry; Senior, Abigail Steinfort in Duet Acting and Original Oration; Sophomore, Audra Steinfort in Duet Acting; Senior, Maddy Vermetten in Informative Speech and Original Oration; Senior, Catherine Toerber in Informative Speech and Improvised Duet Acting; Senior, Emma Yungeberg in Improvised Duet Acting; Junior, Michelle Sandoval in Duet Acting; Sophomore, Liam Shill in Duet Acting and Prose; Junior, John Haefke in Extemporaneous Speech and Prose; and Sophomore, Tyrel Wagner in Serious Acting Solo. Those going to State Festival are as follows: Junior, Jay-Lynn Bauer in Poetry; Sophomore, Nathalie Madera in Prose; Junior, Robert Limon in Serious Acting Solo; Freshman, Harmony Conti in Improvised Duet Acting; and Freshman, Janelle Medina in Improvised Duet Acting and Prose.
State Forensics will take place on Saturday, May 7th, hosted by Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas. Before these competitors go to state, they will be giving a performance in the Valley Heights Commons on Thursday April 28th. Performances will begin at 7pm with a free will donation potato and dessert bar opening at 5:30pm.
