NEW NURSE; NEW OPPORTUNITIES. “My favorite part of the job is getting to know all the different students,” said Tiffany DeWalt, V.H school nurse. The Valley Heights school district is welcoming a few new staff members this year, including a school nurse. Mrs. Dewalt has been a nurse for 20 years. She received her LPN license at Manhattan Area Technical College. Taking the school position was ideal for her because all of her children attend school in the district, and she will be much closer to them.

Nurse Dewalt is excited for the school year and her role in the district. “I’m looking forward to getting to know all the students in all three buildings, there's a lot of kids I don’t know and I can't wait to meet the student body.” When asked what the most challenging part of her new role would be she said, “Rotating between the three schools and being everywhere I may be needed at the moment.” Working as a school nurse is a much different setting than she has ever worked in and she’s eager to learn everything she needs to know.

Despite all the new changes, Nurse DeWalt has high hopes for the school year and will be a great addition to the school district.
