Valley Heights Elementary proudly announces that Mrs. Meadows’ class has been crowned Kansas State Reading Champions. This championship resulted from reading the most minutes per team over four weeks during READBowl 2024. The World Championship of Reading is a global reading competition put on by Read With Malcolm, the Youth Literacy Initiative of NFL Super Bowl Champion, and children's book author Malcoml Mitchell. The seventh annual competition was held from January 8 (the day of the College Football Nationship Game) through this past Super Bowl Sunday. This year there were more than 280,000 students, from all 50 states and 14 countries competing in the competition. In the end, more than 180 million minutes were read during READBowl 2024. Congratulations!
