Congratulations to the Valley Heights State Basketball Cheer Squad, coaches, players, student section and fans for receiving the Sportsmanship Award at the KSHSAA State Basketball Tournament! Adding a plaque to the trophy case! Cheerleaders did a great job leading with positivity, on and off the court! Way to go!

Station 3: egg interior grading (canceling eggs to see the air cell - or lack of yolk in an egg from evaporation…. Older eggs have a bigger air cells)
Station 4: egg exterior grading (what’s wrong/defected with the egg shell?)
Station 5: carcass grading
Alwyas a fun lab to get thinking about poultry science and real world jobs that are available! Who knew you could make sure chicken nuggets look pleasing?!



In reading, the 4th graders read the book “The Right Dog for the Job.” Students learned about a service dog named Ira and everything a service dog needs to know. We had KSDS Assistance Dogs, from Washington visit about their program. Students learned that KSDS provides trained guide, service, and facility dogs for people who need them or to help enhance their work. Thank you Brooke and Boaz for coming and teaching about these services.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the cheer tryouts for the Valley Heights cheer squad has been moved and is now scheduled as follows:
Practice: March 23 from 4-7
