Below is a resource shared by the Kansas Department of Education. Especially now with the transition to Distance Learning Plans, things are different. If you are struggling with social-emotional awareness, please reach out to this resource or the school for assistance.
Since 1993, Kansas Children's Service League’s Parent Helpline (1-800-CHILDREN) has offered a voice who will listen and empathize with callers’ concerns and provide help with simple questions or complex situations. Information, referrals and support are provided statewide anonymously to parents, relatives, caregivers, youth and professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This line is designed to meet the needs of parents and caregivers who feel isolated and frustrated when trying to meet the challenges of raising children. In calendar year 2019 the Parent Helpline answered 1,648 calls. Inquiries can be made via email or text using 1800CHILDREN@kcsl.org.
The Parent Helpline is also available as a mobile phone App. This is a free download that can be found by searching The Parent Helpline in either the Android or Apple stores. The App also contains links for Parent Tip Cards on the KCSL website or has simple one touch dialing if you decide you need additional information.
Top reasons for calls to the Parent Helpline include basic parenting, child development, behavior management, questions about reporting child abuse and neglect, mental health, legal concerns and information about programs/services.
Call the Parent Helpline at either 1-800-CHILDREN or 1-800-332-6378 for resources, referrals and other information.

An email was sent to families with a link to a registration for summer ball. The form is also located on our website by clicking on forms and registrations under the Community Education tab.

Don’t forget about meals being served today at both grade schools from 11-1pm! Today is a hot meal with instructions how to warm up at home! 1-18 are FREE!

Valley Heights Families:
We miss you and want to see you! VH staff will be driving through the communities to wave and say hi this Sunday, March 29th at 5:00 in Blue Rapids and approximately 5:45 in Waterville.
You are invited to wave and shout from your porch, yards and sidewalks, but please do not approach the vehicles or gather in large groups. We must stick to the social distance guidelines.
The line of vehicles will be starting at the fairgrounds in Blue Rapids and follow the route shown on the map below. We will then proceed to Waterville. If we are not driving down your street feel free to walk or drive somewhere and wait for us along the route. We hope to see as many of you as possible!
