It was a busy day for the students at Blue Rapids Grade School. Dental screenings took place in all 3 buildings. Each student was able to receive a free dental packet with toothpaste, toothbrush, etc., from Jayne Whitson with Schools That Care. The decision was tough for some on what color to choose! Thanks Nurse Tiffany for organizing the screenings and Ms. Jayne for the free toothbrushes!
Keeping your kids' teeth clean helps prevent cavities and other diseases! Encourage them to brush twice daily with a brush and floss calendar you can download here! https://5il.co/357eu

Fourth grade had their Family Fun Night last night. Families learned about poetic devices and even created a family Acrostic Poem. Our family poems will be published and made into a book! Everyone enjoyed rootbeer floats and had a blast!

NEW SCHOOL/TEAM RECORD! The HS girls bball team managed to make it on the jumbotron EIGHT times while watching KSU women take down TCU!

Police Officer Dan Hargrave talked with the Preschool and Kinder-Prep classes about what police officers do and how to stay safe. He explained how he drives around Waterville after crosswalk duty to keep an eye on the kids who are walking home to help everyone get home safely. We are thankful for this and all of the other things the police officers in our community do.

2025 Drill Team Kiddie Clinic

Konza Prairie Community Health Center will be in the district performing dental screenings and optional fluoride application for students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade, on Tuesday, February 11. See the attached Letter and OPTIONAL Fluoride Consent form. All students will receive the screening unless opted out by a parent. Fluoride varnish application is optional and requires the additional paperwork to be completed and sent back to school. Please send the fluoride consent form back by Monday, February 10, if you wish for your student to receive fluoride.
Copies of the letter and fluoride consent were sent home with students in K-6 grades. Students in 7-12 grades can pick up a copy of the fluoride consent from the high school office.
I can be reached by calling one of the schools or via email, tdewalt@valleyheights.org.
Thank you,
