On Thursday, the Jr. English class is having a WWII Museum Day. Students will be sharing from 9:55- 10:45 and 12:45 to 1:30. It will also be available to visit all day. We would love for the community to come see memorabilia from that historical time.

Today in Mrs. Schreiner's class, students practiced interviewing a partner before they begin their podcast project! The interview began with one question, "What is something you are most proud of?" And then students were to continue the interview for 10 minutes then switch. The classroom was loud, but full of great conversation! In the end, they shared one thing they learned about their partner!

Valley Heights Elementary proudly announces that Mrs. Meadows’ class has been crowned Kansas State Reading Champions. This championship resulted from reading the most minutes per team over four weeks during READBowl 2024. The World Championship of Reading is a global reading competition put on by Read With Malcolm, the Youth Literacy Initiative of NFL Super Bowl Champion, and children's book author Malcoml Mitchell. The seventh annual competition was held from January 8 (the day of the College Football Nationship Game) through this past Super Bowl Sunday. This year there were more than 280,000 students, from all 50 states and 14 countries competing in the competition. In the end, more than 180 million minutes were read during READBowl 2024. Congratulations!
