Valley Heights has had our first positive case of COVID within our schools. A middle school student has tested positive and close contact tracing is currently going on. If you do not receive a call from the VH Administration or the Marshall County Health Dept., you are not considered a direct contact. Contact tracing should hopefully be completed by this evening. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the district office.

Today 4th grade began converting units in terms of capacity. They got to measure the capacity of a beaker using water and recognize the relationship between milliliters and liters. They are adding and subtracting using these units. #grade4math #mustangproud

The Valley Heights athletic director was contacted this morning by the Republic County Health Department instructing our junior high football players to enter quarantine until Friday, October 23rd. The Mustang junior high football team played against Republic County on Thursday, October 8th, two days prior to the onset of symptoms of the two positive cases, which is within the contagious window. We will follow the protocols set forth by our local health departments. Although parents and siblings are not required to quarantine, we do ask that you contact the Marshall County Health Department at (785)562-3485 if you or your child(ren) exhibit any symptoms of COVID19. As always, we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Please continue to wear masks and social distance whenever possible. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Marshall County and Republic County Health Departments, our athletic director Mr. Tony Trimble, and our school nurse, Jenna Vathauer, for their quick response and ensuring our students stay informed and safe.
